El Eden Washed Geisha COE #3

$94.00

Josh’s Notes:
Wow. A stunning example of Geisha. We are truly blessed to have so many incredible and accessible geisha options these days. It’s coffee like these that really elevate the game, and even more impressive that this is a washed coffee with no interventions. This coffee opens with a very clear orange peel / orange expression note when ground. On the bloom and into the brew, this turns into a hot lemon tea that makes your mouth salivate. The sweetness is reminiscent of sugar cane juice. The coffee is very clean and pristine, and yet maintains a medium lush body. Strong retro nasal lemon smell when drinking this too, and the cup cools incredibly well for all you slow coffee drinkers. Top shelf.

Glitch’s Notes:
“El Edén Farm, a renowned coffee producer in the prestigious Huehuetenango region of Guatemala, is delighted to announce the arrival of its exceptional lot, which secured 3rd place at the Guatemala Cup of Excellence 2024.

Founded in 1960 by Leonardo Perez y Perez, the farm has since been inherited and meticulously managed by his son, Leonardo Rene Pérez Hidalgo. In 2019, embracing the ideal conditions of sunlight, ventilation, altitude, and terrain, the farm undertook a significant transformation by replacing its traditional varieties with the Gesha variety. The seeds for this transition were sourced from the award-winning 2018 COE lot of Finca La Reforma, highlighting the farm's commitment to excellence and innovation.

This particular Gesha lot, refined through a traditional Washed process, is noted for its exquisite and pristine aroma. It offers a complex cup profile with vibrant citrus notes reminiscent of lemon tea and orange, intertwined with delicate floral undertones.

This batch, exclusively procured by us at the COE auction, ensures that Glitch Coffee & Roasters is the only place in the world where this top-tier coffee can be experienced.”

Roasted light and spectacularly by our friends at Glitch Coffee and Roasters in Tokyo, Japan, rested for 7 days, then vacuum packed and frozen for long term storage.
